Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.
Applications at the moment are open and may close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the subsequent requirements:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house by using a combined gross household income that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence income will not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not submit any proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
Applicants are reminded to deliver the proper Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are researching or plan to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and 2025 nsfas application avoid delays in the processing of their application.
